World Day for Cultural Diversity is on May 21.

Wednesday, May 20, 2020. New York City – World Day for Cultural Diversity is on Thursday, May 21, 2020. Diversity is great. One of the reasons I love living in “The Naked City” is the diversity in this city. I love creating nude art with models from different backgrounds.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, we need to keep a social distance of 6 feet from each other and wear a mask. We can still create art with precautions.

“In 2001, UNESCO adopted the Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity. and in In December 2002, the UN General Assembly, in its resolution 57/249, declared May 21 to be the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, and in 2015, the Second Committee of the UN General Assembly unanimously adopted the resolution on Culture and Sustainable Development A/C.2/70/L.59, affirming culture’s contribution to the three dimensions of sustainable development, acknowledging further the natural and cultural diversity of the world, and recognizing that cultures and civilizations can contribute to, and are crucial enablers of, sustainable development.”

Saturday, June 8th, 2019. Brooklyn, New York City - This year, Brooklyn celebrated the 23rd Annual Brooklyn Pride Parade/March. This year is the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall revolution. Brooklyn Pride is the only New York City night time parade/march. The parade started at Lincoln Place and 5th Ave and ended at 9th Street and 5th Avenue.
